Big and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Big and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I make my cookies BIG and I laugh when the recipe says, “makes 36”. Whatever! Me? I think one cookie should hit your tummy perfect. I also think chocolate chip cookies are simply perfect for making ice cream sandwiches and there are no “mini” sandwiches in my house!

That said…if any cookies are left tomorrow, I’ll make them into ice cream sandwiches.  Something tells me, there won’t be much left.  But it’s all good.  Enjoy!

Big and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour – $.75
1 cup butter – $1.10
1/2 cup granulated sugar – $.50
1 cup packed brown sugar – $1.00
1 large egg – $.15
1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips (you can add more for more chocolaty cookies) – $.75
1 tsp vanilla extract – pantry
1 tsp baking soda – pantry
1 tsp salt – pantry

COST: $4.25

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl and set aside.

Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large bowl until creamy. Add eggs and beat well.

Gradually mix the flour mixture into the creamed mixture and then stir in chocolate chips.

Drop rounded heaping tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheet and separate each mound of cookie dough by 1 inch a piece.

Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown.  The larger the cookie, the more it needs to cook.  Mine cook about 12 mins.

GRAND TOTAL: $4.25
